JFUNU Scholarships for Developing Country Students for MSc in Sustainability Program


JFUNU Scholarships are available to international students through the Japan Foundation for UNU. Students might pursue a profession in the field of sustainability development. MSc in Sustainability is available at JFUNU. Students that are very gifted and exceptional are urged to apply for this study program.

JFUNU Scholarships for MSc Sustainability Program:

United Nations University offers the JFUNU Master Scholarship programme. The United Nations University’s Sustainability Development Master’s degree lasts two years. The United Nations Institution is a research-focused university established in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Its mission and goal are to solve global challenges relating to human development and do research on them.

  • JFUNU Scholarship provides with monthly allowance.
  • Monthly allowance of 120,000 JPY is provided for their 2 years of study program, this allowance covers living expenses of students.

  • Visa fees, health insurance and other expenses will be covered by student.

Eligibility Criteria:

Following eligibility criteria should be met this program

  • Student must be from the following developing country list (check here).
  • Student already working in Japan under working visa are not eligible for this scholarship program.
  • Student must not have already studied and graduated any Master degree.
  • Student must have completed undergraduate degree program in sustainability related field.
  • Student must have obtained GPA of 2.8 or above on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate degree program.
  • Excellent academic background.
  • Student must complete English Proficiency requirements.

Apply for JFUNU Scholarship Program:

Students must apply online using the JFUNU Application Portal, which can be found at the link below. The student will fill out the MSc in Sustainability Development application form and attach all required documentation. There is no need to apply for the scholarship programme separately. The JFUNU Scholarship Program will automatically consider students from underdeveloped nations.

Application deadline to apply for JFUNU Scholarship Program is 21 February 2022.
