Apply to the International Student Program at Clinton Global Initiative University


The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) seeks undergraduate and graduate students who are working to address pressing issues in five areas: education, environment, climate change, peace, human rights, poverty alleviation, and public health.

The following are some of the student programs offered by CGI U:

CGI U 2022: Our flagship program, which began in 2007, supports students who have made Commitments to Action all over the world. Learn more about our CGI U year-long program.
The Verizon Forward For Good Challenge is an extension program that helps students and CGI U alumni in the United States advance projects that use cutting-edge technology by offering them the chance to participate in an accelerator program and pitch for seed funding. The applications for CGI U 2022’s student programs will be open through January 21, 2022.

CGI U Graduation Requirements

Commitment Mentors will use the online platform to review and monitor student engagement in the CGI U curriculum and ensure that students are meeting graduation requirements. Students must complete the following tasks over the course of the 2022 program to be eligible for the CGI U Commitment-Maker seal, letters of recommendation, and other opportunities:

Throughout the program, you must participate in at least four (4) small group discussions (to be scheduled by Commitment Mentors)
Review of CGI U’s 30-minute webinar recordings and readings, which will be available on the online platform, as well as completion of all exercises.
Per module, they must complete one 30-minute individual coaching session with their Commitment Mentor (4 in total)
Completion of the Progress Report on the Commitment to Action.
